Framing was in full force this month at IK Bar on Building A. The team finished installing first floor SIP panels and moved onto the demising walls between the units. The demising, or party walls, serve as both a noise and fire barrier between separate units, keeping future homeowners happy and safe! With the demising walls installed, the team moved onto interior walls and then the second floor. They started installing joists and beams on the first two units and will plan to continue working on the second floor package into July.
On Building B, volunteers and staff worked hard digging trenches for the sub-slab plumbing work. All of the fixtures on the first floor, such as the toilet, kitchen and bathroom sinks and hose faucet need both their supplies and their waste lines accurately located and installed prior to concrete. The plumbers will install their lines in the newly dug trenches next month and get Building B ready for concrete slabs!
