ECSD employees partner with Habitat to help build their homes at IK Bar in Gypsum. They buy their homes and pay an affordable mortgage.

How to Apply

Habitat Vail Valley and Eagle County School District are partnering to build 10 homes at IK Bar in Gypsum. ECSD employees earning up to 100% AMI, can apply to live in these homes.

One step at a time, you can become a homeowner.

Step 1:
Qualify

See selection criteria here.

Step 2:
Apply

Regardless if you meet the criteria or not for the Habitat homeownership program, we encourage you to apply.

Step 3:
Application Review

All applications will be reviewed by Habitat Vail Valley, ensuring each application is complete.

Step 4:
Selection

Recommended applicants are presented to Habitat’s Board of Directors for approval.

Step 5:
Partnership

Upon selection, homeowners will begin 250 Sweat Equity hours (per adult) and will participate in homeowner education classes.

Final Step:
Homeownership

Upon completion of all Sweat Equity hours and verification of down payment funds, the homeowner buys the home and begins paying the mortgage.
