Maria Klopfenstein

Maria Klopfenstein joined Habitat for Humanity Vail Valley in 2016 as Office Manager. She oversees daily management of financials, payroll and IT services as well as Board administration and Affiliate reporting and communication. Maria loves being part of an organization that values helping others and the community. To Maria, it is meaningful to know that her hard work directly contributes to families being able to afford a home of their own.

Maria was born in St. Paul, graduating from Bethel University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism. Growing up with missionary parents, she spent her childhood in Hawaii before the family returned to Minnesota. After college she moved to Colorado to work at a dude ranch. She moved to Eagle County in 2011 to live near her now-husband, Reid. Four years later, she decided to pursue her passion of community development by joining Habitat Vail Valley. She received her Certified Nonprofit Accounting Professional certificate.

Outside of work, Maria enjoys hiking with her dog and two-year-old daughter Ava; working out, rafting, skiing, fishing; camping with her family, hunting with her husband, and doing anything else that involves the outdoors.
