Homeownership

The dream of homeownership is something that is achievable. Habitat for Humanity Vail Valley partners with individuals and families in Eagle County to build a place they can call home. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.

A Habitat home is a stabilizing force for a family. Better, affordable living conditions lead to improved health, stronger childhood development and the ability – and financial flexibility – to make forward-looking choices.

Do I Qualify?

To be selected for Habitat Vail Valley’s homeownership program, applicants must meet four selection criteria.

How to Apply

The deadline for submitting homeownership applications varies from year to year. The process can take up to a full year to complete.

“For my children I like to lead by example. We compete over our GPAs, and they tell me it’s not fair because I am only taking one class. But, I tell them that it is fair because I have a full-time job.”
