AmeriCorps Volunteer Program

Habitat for Humanity of Eagle and Lake Counties is pleased to welcome two new AmeriCorps Members.

Caleb Gerdes

Construction Crew Leader

Katrina Schauland

ReStore Development Coordinator

Caleb serves on our job site to help lead volunteer groups and Katrina serves with our Habitat ReStore over the next year. Their roles are designed to help increase our capacity of providing decent, affordable housing for families in need in Eagle County. They join a network of over 500 AmeriCorps members who are serving with Habitat for Humanity in over 150 communities throughout the United States.

AmeriCorps members are compensated for their community service with modest benefits that include a small living allowance, health care and an education award that can be used to attend school or pay back student loans.

Each year, tens of thousands of AmeriCorps members serve with organizations around the country to help meet the needs of local communities and low-income residents.

CSU Intern Program

In 2009, Habitat launched a partnership with CSU's Construction Management Internship Program. The relationship brings an emphasis on green building techniques and fosters new and innovative ideas. The partnership demonstrates our commitment to new ideas and to collaborating with other organizations.
